In the past few months, a radical Islamist group known as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) has overtaken, through a fast-moving military operation, large parts of northern and central Iraq , including Iraq’s second-largest city, Mosul, and also eastern Syria. As part of their campaign, they have executed Christians in the region.
It is our solemn duty as Catholics to pray with fervent minds and hearts for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ (Acts 12:5). Therefore, we will hold a Holy Hour for Persecuted Christians in Iraq on Thurs. August 14th following the 5 pm Vigil Mass for the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Masses will be celebrated:
Thursday, August 14th - 5:00 PM
