"Lenten Wednesdays"

Once again this year, our Parish is happy to offer a special program of Lenten activities during the Wednesdays of Lent which we are calling "Lenten Wednesdays".  It will be held on: March 8th, March 15th, March 22nd, and March 29th.

On each of these Wednesdays, we will have a "Poor Man's Supper" beginning at 5:30 PM which will include a brief reflection on the Sunday Mass Readings for the coming week and time for small group discussion. Following the supper, we will have Stations of the Cross at 6:30 PM in Church, and the Sacrament of Confession will be available following Stations.

School Stations of the Cross

In addition to the Stations of the Cross which will be prayed during each of the "Lenten Wednesday" programs, we will also gather with our school students each week for Stations of the Cross during the following times:

Tuesday, March 7th @ 2:00 PM

Thursday, March 16th @ 2:00 PM

Tuesday, March 21st @ 2:00 PM

Thursday, March 30th @ 2:00 PM

Tuesday, April 4th @ 2:00 PM

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Traditionally, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the focuses of our Lenten practice.

We will be offering the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the following times each week:

Every Wednesday in Lent; 7:00 PM, following Stations of the Cross (except Ash Wednesday, February 10th)

Every Saturday; 8:30-9:00 AM, then from 3:30-4:30 PM

In addition, we will hear Confessions on Monday of Holy Week, April 10th at 7:00 PM

* Please note that as we have done in the past, there will be NO Lenten Penance Service since we will be offering Confessions on all Wednesdays of Lent, twice on Saturdays, and with extended periods of Confessions during Holy Week. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available at any time by appointment by calling the Parish Office.

Seder Meal

Wednesday, April 5th @ 5:00 PM

We are happy to once again offer this great St. Al's tradition!  This will take the place of the Poor Man's Supper for this week.  Stations of the Cross will follow the Meal at 6:30 PM and Confessions will be heard at 7:00 PM.

Tenebrae Service

Friday, April 7th @ 7:00 PM

The word Tenebrae means “shadows” in Latin. As Scripture is read and hymns are sung by the Saint Aloysius Choir the Sanctuary is progressively darkened as the candles are extinguished.  At one point all of the candles are put out to symbolize Christ’s three days in the tomb and then finally a single candle is returned so that its light might symbolize the Resurrection.
