MaryAnn responded: I believe that I bring a unique background to the table. I was baptized Catholic, but not raised in any church. In high school, I chose to connect to my family’s underlying Catholic faith through RCIA and CCD. As adults, my husband and I have experienced the prosperity of having good stable finances, weathered losses of jobs and dealt with unemployment. We also have the understanding of starting a family and starting anew after moving across the country. Before leaving the Midwest, I worked closely with a Catholic Young Adult organization called Veritas. Our goal was to bring young adult Catholics closer to Christ. Additionally, I was involved with the Grand Rapids Diocese Cursillo movement for several years. Our family has been a part of the St. Al’s family for a couple years now and we are looking to be a service to the parish. I am honored to be considered for the parish council and hope to be a useful servant.
