Are you or someone you know interested in learning
more about the Catholic Faith?
What is RCIA?
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation Adults) is a process for people who have an interest in and questions about the Catholic faith. It is an opportunity to get answers, share insight and learn the foundations of the Catholic faith.
Do I have to commit to joining the Church to start the classes?
No. You can start the classes and, at various points during the program, you will be asked to access if you would like to continue moving forward in anticipation of joining the Church at the Easter Vigil.
What kinds of topics are covered?
Any topic you might have questions about can be addressed. Some topics covered include: The Holy Trinity, faith, hierarchy of the Church, the Bible, interpretation of the Bible, the Mass, the real presence of the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist, Saints, Mary, prayer, church history, purgatory, heaven and hell, the dignity of life, contraception, penance and the sacraments.
Who teaches the classes?
The classes are conducted by either Father Benn and the RCIA team. Different members of Saint Aloysius Community, who are a part of the RCIA team, will lead each class. Each class begins with a prayer and Bible reading then we discuss the topic(s) of the day. Weekly topics are assigned before each class to allow time for reading and reflection. Questions are always encouraged.
How can I find out more?
You can attend the informational meeting in September (watch this site for exact date) located in the Parish Center or call the parish office at (610) 326-5877. Come to hear from others who have gone through the RCIA process and to meet the team members who will be a part of this year’s classes.
When do the classes begin?
Classes usually begin around the end of September.
